Overview: Administrative Coordinator
The Sacramento County Bar Association (SCBA) seeks a dynamic team member who can
seamlessly juggle support for key activities such as member services and event coordination, support and oversee general office administrative obligations. As a talented multitasker, qualified applicants will be comfortable taking direction and making recommendations. The ideal candidate must be flexible, capable, and hardworking, someone who is a self-starter who works well independently and as part of a small team. The successful candidate's input and suggestions to improve operations and management will be critical.
SCBA is a 501 (c) (6) nonprofit membership association serving the legal community in Sacramento County. The association is made up of two dozen Sections, Divisions and committees that meet the specialization and subject-matter needs of Sacramento's lawyers and the law firms and employers where they work. SCBA partners with many more affiliate organizations that also add to the dynamic Sacramento legal community. The very small but mighty SCBA staff organizes events, supports educational programming for lawyers, and provides administrative support to the SCBA executive committee and board of directors. The office is also tasked with weekly communications to the membership and other efforts as necessary. As a member services organization, the SCBA is committed to providing benefits that add value to the members and to the legal community as a whole.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Need strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn association management database as well as other software, databases and tech skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with all contacted through the course of work, including and especially attorneys, law firms, judges, service providers and vendors.
- Ability to contribute to the public's understanding and awareness of the role of attorneys in our community and, more significantly, in California's constitutional democracy.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with customer service attitude.
- Must be able to collaborate with team members, as well as work independently.
- Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed to support SCBA events.
Responsibilities
- Answer and respond to or redirect phone inquiries, emails and other communications.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail
- Assist with soliciting and scheduling of vendor services.
- Assist with data entry and reporting for event registrations, membership registrations and renewals and other related needs.
- Assist with maintenance of various databases, spreadsheets, logs, and email accounts.
- Assist with coordination of the SCBA's annual membership
- Support the SCBA Sections, Divisions, and committees with meeting logistics and financial accounting, including receipt of monies and processing of payments and invoices.
- Support planning and coordination activities for SCBA
- Support the SCBA bookkeeper and finance
- Contribute to the effective and efficient implementation, management, and evolution of SCBA's services and
Qualifications
Two (2) years' fast-paced, high volume administrative experience in a professional setting with front-facing, community service duties required. A Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred. Directly related experience may be substituted for education. Ability to use common business productivity software and online tools. Multi-tasking and attention to detail are necessary to perform the work of this position.
